Spring is right around the corner so why not get a jump start on your spring cleaning March is the perfect time for accomplishing some of those jobs while there’s still a chill in the air. Now is the perfect time to go through your kitchen cabinets and drawers. Take out all the food and canned goods, wash down the cabinets on the inside, maybe put in some new shelf paper, then check the expiration dates on everything before you put it away. Do the same with your drawers – take everything out and ask yourself “Have I used this in the last year (or more)?” If the answer is no maybe it’s time to let it go.
Another thing that people often forget to do is rotate their rugs. If you don’t do this at least once a year the area the sun hits will fade over time leaving your rugs looking splotchy plus it’s good to roll them up and vacuum underneath them. It’s amazing how much dirt can work their way underneath them as well as sand that has been brought in from shoes and winter boots.
Lastly go through your closets and bureau drawers. The rule of thumb is if you haven’t worn it in a year you don’t really need it. There are so many people in need of clothing right here at home who have recently lost everything due to tornadoes and fire who would appreciate anything they can get.
When spring really arrives you can start on the rest of your spring cleaning. Check us out in April for what tasks need to done and how to get them done with the least amount of time and energy.
